Conference 2005 Afterword
The 26th biennial conference of the Classical
Association of South Africa was held at the
University of KwaZulu-Natal,
Tuesday 5 to Thursday 7 July 2005. The
theme of the Conference,
The
Classical Tradition / Classical Receptions
produced a variety of interesting and even controversial papers. The
organisers would like to thank all those who participated, especially the
keynote speaker, Professor
Lorna Hardwick
of the Open University in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and
the two guest speakers, Professor Alessandro Barchiesi
(University of Siena, Arezzo) and Professor
John Scarborough (University
of Wisconsin, Madison).
We would like to take forward the idea of publishing a selection of
papers that focus on the conference theme. Delegates who wish to
participate should contact Anne
Gosling or John Hilton.
